Jack Butland Completes Premier League Switch

Jack Butland has completed a move to newly promoted Premier League outfit, Hull City following the signing of Ivor Pandur from Hull. The Rangers number one signed back in 2023 from Crystal Palace making over 150 appearances for the Ibrox side, being the number one during his three-year spell in Govan. Butland brings wealth of experience back down south, having played for numerous other English clubs such as Birmingham City, Cheltenham Town, Stoke City, Barnsley, Leeds United, Derby County, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and of course, Rangers. The 33 year-old has made 447 career appearances, clinching 135 clean sheets as well as making 9 caps for the England National Team. Jack Butland last season played every single minute under Danny Rohl at Rangers, playing 55 times in the Scottish Premiership last campaign as he makes a move to the English top flight. Butland began his career Birmingham before having a long period at Stoke establishing himself as one of the best keepers in England at the time with having some big money moves on the cards but no move materialising as he made the move years later to Selhurst Park. Butland said: “I’m delighted it’s all sorted now and I’m really excited to be here. It’s a great challenge and a fantastic season to look forward to. The challenge is obvious but an exciting one. “The Premier League is the best league in the world and, personally, it’s a great opportunity to be on the biggest stage again. I believe it’s the level I’m capable of playing at, and I’ve done it before. “As a club, we’ve got a great challenge back in the Premier League, not just to stay in the league but to really enjoy it and do as well as we can. “The last few years playing at an incredible club like Rangers, somewhere I hold close to my heart, meant it had to be something really enticing to change that. “The European nights and all the experience I gained up in Scotland, and my experience prior to that, are going to set me up perfectly for the challenge ahead this year. “I’ve already had some chats with the goalie coach (Erbil Bozkurt); he seems like a great guy and I’ve heard great things about him, which is really important to my time here. “It can’t come quickly enough. I’m really looking forward to seeing the fans in a really exciting season for us as a club.”
St Mirren Standout signs for Austrian Champions

Miguel Freckleton has left St Mirren to join Austrian giants LASK, in a deal that will include “significant” add-ons for the Buddies. The 22-year-old joined from Sheffield United in July 2025, and with 47 appearances last season, was a prominent figure for both Stephen Robinson and new manager Craig McLeish. A statement on St Mirren’s website read as follows. “With a year remaining on his Saints deal, Miguel made clear his desire to take on a new challenge with the Austrian champions.” “We sincerely thank Miguel for his contributions. He departs with the best wishes of everyone at St Mirren.” The move is an exciting opportunity for the Englishman, as LASK secured their 2nd Austrian Bundesliga title last season, edging Sturm Graz by two points in the championship round. His best moments for the Paisley outfit include a key late winner against Hearts and the equaliser for a crucial win at the Falkirk Stadium. He also played all 120 minutes of their extra-time Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic.
Former England defender Stuart Pearce slams England winger who ‘gave up’ during DR Congo win

England were 16 minutes away from a shock World Cup exit before a Harry Kane double in quick succession secured their place in the last 16. However, Stuart Pearce criticised Noni Madueke’s mindset. Madueke started England’s Round-of-32 clash against DR Congo, but was hooked just before the second hydration break for Arsenal colleague Bukayo Saka after a poor display on the right wing. Thomas Tuchel had to make immediate changes to reignite an England squad who were heading home after being 1-0 down to DR Congo. Marcus Rashford was replaced by Anthony Gordron, who played a vital role in both of England’s goals, and Saka stepped in for Madueke. Shortly after Madueke left the pitch, Stuart Pearce confessed he was ‘disappointed’ with the Premier League winner’s performance. On talkSPORT’s World Cup GameDay Live, Pearce said: “I’ve got to say I’m really disappointed with Madueke. “Outstanding with him in the first half, but in the second half, I think he took the easy option, got tired and gave up.” However, moments later Tuchel’s substitutions worked a treat. A delightful cross from Anthony Gordon left Harry Kane in a dangerous position, as his powerful header left Lionel Mpasi with no chance in the DR Congo goal. Just 10 minutes later, Gordon and Kane combined which doubled England’s scoring for the evening and kept the Three Lions in the tournament after what was a shaky 75 minutes prior to the two goals. England face Mexico in the famous Azteca in the Round-of-16 on early Monday morning.
