Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham: Spurs Manage to Win Against Unlucky Palace to End 2025 on a High

Archie Gray scored his first ever goal as Spurs got a win away at Selhurst Park despite struggling for large parts of the game against Crystal Palace. Palace have two wins and three losses in their last five league games and sit ninth in the table after 17 games. Tottenham have just one win along with a draw and three losses in their last five in the league and sit 14th in the table with 22 points. Palace made four changes to the team that lost on penalties to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, Walter Benitez, Chris Richards, Jaydee Canvot and Eddie Nketiah were replaced by Dean Henderson, Nathaniel Clyne, Will Hughes and Justin Devenny. Spurs made two changes from the team that lost at home against Liverpool, Cristian Romero and Xavi Simons who were both sent off in that game were replaced by Kevin Danso and Richarlison. The first real incident happened just five minutes in as Jean-Philippe Mateta played through the on-running Devenny who was tripped blatantly by Danso, the Spurs defender was booked and after a VAR review the yellow card was upheld. Palace again pressed forwards as Hughes and Devenny linked well, Devenny’s shot from just inside the box was blocked and fell to Mateta again, but it was stopped by Spurs keeper Gugliemo Vicario. Spurs put the ball into the net after 17 minutes with their first real chance of the game, Mohammad Kudus picks up a slack header and a couple of nice passes between him and Lucas Bergvall they then find Archie Gray whose cross found the head of Richarlison, however Bergvall was found to be offside by VAR and the goal didn’t stand. Palace would then go up the pitch and Adam Wharton would win back possession and played an exquisite pass to Mateta who took a decent shot at goal with the ball stuck under his feet but drifted wide. Another chance came for Oliver Glasner’s team as they won another free kick taken by Yeremy Pino, his cross deep to the back post was headed back across goal by Maxence Lacroix and met by Mateta who headed over from about five yards. As we passed the half hour mark the game was extremely one sided with Crystal Palace holding the majority of the possession, but Tottenham were defending very well. Palace again went close just a minute later as left wing-back Tyrick Mitchell’s cross was met by Devenny, but his header went straight at Vicario. Djed Spence plays a blind pass on the edge of his own box that goes straight to Wharton who is able to hit a curling left foot shot but again it was a fairly easy stop for the goalkeeper. The one-way traffic continued, this time it was Hughes who had a shot go over the bar after more good work down the Palace left from Devenny and Mitchell. Tottenham unbelievably took the lead as they managed to get a corner that was curled into the far post by Pedro Porro, it was knocked back across goal by both Randal Kolo Muani and Richarlison before the vital touch by Gray for his first senior goal to give the visitors the lead. As we hit half time Tottenham had grown into the game more but were undeservedly ahead with that Archie Gray header. Palace should have had a few goals by this point in the game, but they couldn’t find the definitive finishing touch. The early moments of the second half were dominated by Crystal Palace, mirroring long spells of the first half but again the final touch evaded them. Palace’s first shot of the second half came after 55 minutes a cross by Pino was headed by Clyne and his header found Devanny around eight yards from goal who had to hit it on the spin, but his shot flew over the bar. As we passed the hour mark, the trend of the game continued as Palace remained on the ball a lot, having just over 70% of the possession but still looked lost once they reached the Tottenham penalty area. Spurs were just clinging on desperately to their one goal lead. Yet again Crystal Palace go close from a header, a Wharton cross headed back across goal by Jefferson Lerma and Lacroix this time puts it wide as it was almost beyond belief at this point that Palace hadn’t scored. Again, Spurs are able to break up the pitch once and put the ball in the net, a long ball by Porro found Kudus, a one-two with Gray and Kudus plays a wicked outside-of-the-foot cross for Richarlison. However again VAR denies Spurs a goal and the deficit is back to just one. A Wharton corner was met six yards out by Marc Guehi, and he became the latest Palace player to miss the target from a close-range header. Spurs have another flurry up the pitch again a long ball towards Kudus whose lay-off finds Richarlison but his shot is straight at Palace keeper Henderson. A Spurs free kick taken by substitute Joao Palhinha was headed goalwards by another sub Radu Dragusin but it flew over the goal. Spurs again went close as another sub Wilson Odobert hit the post with a powerful shot after good work from Palhinha to win back the ball and get it into Odobert’s path again. Spurs had one last chance late into injury time as Odobert got the ball to substitute Brennan Johnson who cut it back for Rodrigo Bentancur but his powerful shot was saved well by Henderson. The game finished with a 1-0 win for Tottenham in a game they deserved to lose, Palace had the majority of possession and chances, but they couldn’t get enough of their attempts on target and the ones that did hit the target were easy to save. This result took Tottenham up to 11th place as they face another away game as Thomas Frank goes back to his old club Brentford

Newcastle Utd 2-2 Tottenham: Romero Brace Win Spurs an Undeserved Point at St James Park

Cristian Romero was the unlikely hero for Spurs as his first two goals of the season got Tottenham a draw in the Premier League away at Newcastle. Both teams came into this game with 18 points from 13 games, sitting 13th and 14th in the league respectively, with Spurs only above Newcastle on goal difference. Newcastle made two changes from the team that beat Everton 1-4 in their first away win of the season. Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Elanga dropped out for Sandro Tonali and Jacob Murphy. Tottenham made four changes from the team that lost 1-2 at home to Fulham. Mickey van de Ven, Joao Palhihna, Archie Gray and Richarlison being replaced by Cristian Romero, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson. The first real chance of the game came to Newcastle as Lewis Hall won the ball in the middle of the park, he dribbled well but his shot lacked conviction and trickled wide. As we passed through the first quarter of an hour, Harvey Barnes did well down the left and played a cut back pass to Lewis Miley, but his shot didn’t beat the diving Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario. Newcastle continued to keep possession but were creating little, Hall and Barnes on the left hand side looked increasingly dangerous but lacked the final pass. Eddie Howe’s team kept pushing Spurs defence as this time a Sandro Tonali cross was headed at the back post by Malick Thiaw across goal towards Dan Burn but Kevin Danso got himself in the way to take the sting out the ball and it dropped into Vicario’s arms. A quick double chance for Newcastle again as Joelinton hit a great shot across goal but could only hit the post as it fell to Barnes who’s cross bobbled around the six yard box but again the keeper claims the ball. Finally Spurs got a chance to attack after 37 minutes as Hall was beaten on the wing by Mohammed Kudus and his low cross was met by an audacious flick by Lucas Bergvall who got too much height on the ball as it went over. Newcastle dominated the early minutes of the second half. Barnes made a great direct run but his shot was well saved by Vicario, which rebounded out to Woltemade who’s powerful shot was headed off the line by Danso. Bruno Guimeraes’ corner was half cleared to Jacob Murphy who’s volley into the ground was headed away for another corner, Guimeraes almost scored directly from his second effort as it was punched over by Vicario. A great counter attack from a Spurs corner starts with Newcastle keeper Aaron Ramsdale, throwing it out to Guimaraes who played one of the most ridiculous passes of the season to Jacob Murphy, but his shot was deflected by Pedro Porro as Tottenham scramble it clear. As we entered the last 20 minutes Newcastle finally broke the Spurs defence, substitute Anthony Gordon ran at pace past Porro, his cross was laid off by Woltemade into the path of Guimaraes who side footed a shot past Vicario and into the net. Newcastle almost doubled their lead as Gordon again played a good pass that was miss kicked by Randal Kolo Muani and it fell to Miley but his shot was saved by Vicario who held on to the ball at the second attempt. Out of nowhere Spurs drew level. Kudus got the ball as Hall stood off him, his outside of the foot cross was met by Romero who was still up from a previous corner in front of Burn and it slipped a header past Ramsdale for his first goal of the season. After a VAR check for a penalty after Bentancur had a scuffle in the area with Burn, he was penalised for a holding offence and it was given, Gordon took the penalty and sent the keeper the wrong way to put Newcastle ahead with just four minutes left. Deep into the nine minutes of added time, Spurs pushed for an equaliser as substitutes Wilson Odobert cross was met by Tel but neither Richarlison or Xavi Simons could force it home. Unbelievably, Tottenham drew level once more as a recycled corner fell to Romero again who could have won a penalty after he was brought down managed to get back up and overhead kicked the ball past Ramsdale to almost definitely steal a point they did not deserve. The game ends 2-2, a game that Newcastle thoroughly dominated for large spells but their issues of holding on to leads in games comes back to bite them again. Newcastle UtdAaron Ramsdale, Tino Livramento, Dan Burn, Lewis Hall, Lewis Miley (Fabian Schar 90+3), Sandro Tonali (Bruno Guimaraes 46’), Joelinton, Jacob Murphy (Anthony Elanga 66’), Harvey Barnes (Anthony Gordon 66’), Nick Woltemade Bruno Guimeraes (70’)Anthony Gordon (86’) TottenhamGuglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Kevin Danso, Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall (Xavi Simons 77’), Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr (Archie Gray 88’), Brennan Johnson (Mathys Tel 77’), Mohammed Kudus (Wilson Odobert 88’), Randal Kolo Muani (Richarlison 78’) Cristian Romero (78’, 90+5’)

PSG 5-3 Tottenham: Incredible Game Ends in a Win for Champions League Holders

An eight goal thriller in Paris saw PSG beat Tottenham 5-3 in an instant classic Champions League game tonight. The Champions League holders come into this game in 7th place in the League Phase with three wins and one loss after their last European game, losing 2-1 against Bayern Munich. Spurs are 12th in the League Phase with eight points with two wins and two draws after their last Champions League outing, a convincing 4-0 victory against Copenhagen. PSG made six changes to the team that won 4-0 against La Havre in Ligue 1. Marquinhos, William Pancho, Fabian Ruiz, Bradley Barcola, Quentin Ndjantou and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia all replace Illia Zabarnyi, Lucas Beraldo, Senny Mayulu, Lee Kang-In, Gonçalo Ramos and Ibrahim Mbaye. Tottenham made five changes to the North London Derby loss against Arsenal. Archie Gray, Pedro Porro, Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr and Randal Kolo Muani all come in for Kevin Danso, Destiny Udogie, Palhinha, Mohammed Kudas and Wilson Odobert. As the referee blew the whistle in the French capital it was the hosts who started the strongest as Joao Neves cut inside and Fabian Ruiz hit a powerful shot that went just wide. A few minutes later Spurs managed to break up the pitch with Bergvall but he didn’t connect with his cross properly and the ball went into the arms of PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. PSG had the upper hand in the early stages and came close again when Ndjantou played a quick 1-2 pass with Kvaratskhelia whose curling shot bounced just on the wrong side of the post. Another chance for the Parisian’s as Vitinha plays a dinked pass to Warren Zaire-Emery whose control lets him down allowing for Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario to punch the ball away. Spurs have a few minutes of pressure themselves winning a corner but it’s punched away by Chevalier and the chance is gone. Tottenham open the scoring against the run of play in the 35th minute a good run by Gray down the left, he received the ball from Djed Spence and he played a dinked cross to the back post that’s headed back across goal by Muani for Richarlison who tapped the ball in with his head. PSG got the equaliser right on the 45th minute, a short corner was played to Ndjantou who passed the ball square across the area to Vitinha who rifled the ball into the Spurs net. Tottenham took the lead again in the 50th minute a corner was sent to the back post headed back across by Richarlison, hit on the turn by Gray but his shot hit the bar and bounced back to Muani who hit the volley hard into the net. PSG tried to draw level again as Zaire-Emery’s cross was headed just over by Barcola. Just three minutes after Spurs went in front they were pegged back again Kvaratskhelia finds a bit of space on the edge of the box and finds Vitinha who curls in his second of the game. The Parisians got in front for the first time just before the hour mark as high pressure from sub Lucas Hernandez won the ball back and a flick from Neves played through Ruiz to slot home to make it 3-2. PSG got their 2 goal cushion a little over five minutes later from a corner whipped in by sub Kang-In and bobbles around the front post area as it falls to Pancho who side foots it in for 4-2. Spurs weren’t finished yet as they pulled one back when Vitinha lost the control of the ball to Rodrigo Bentancur who played in Muani for his second and Tottenham’s third. PSG were then awarded a penalty for handball as Vitinha had a shot blocked by the raised hand of the sliding Cristian Romero and the penalty was expertly converted by Vitinha for his first senior hat-trick. Just as the game was coming to an end it was finished with a sending off for PSG as Hernandez was given a straight red for a blatant elbow to the face of Spurs substitute Xavi Simons. This crazy game finally comes to an end with the score PSG 5-3 Tottenham, definitively one of the most entertaining Champions League games of all time.   PSG Chervalier, Zaire-Emery, Marquinhos, Pancho, Mendes (Hernandez 46’ sent off 90+3’), Neves, Vitinha (Zabarnyi 90’), Ruiz, Barcola (Kang-In 56’), Kvaratskhelia (Dembele 79’), Ndjantou (Ramos 79’)   Vitinha (45’, 53’, 76’ pen) Ruiz (59’) Pancho (65’)   Tottenham Vicario, Porro, Gray (Palhinha 76’), van de Ven, Romero, Spence (Udogie 84’), Sarr (Odobert 84’), Bergvall (Kudas 76’), Bentancur, Muani (Simon’s 84’), Richarlison   Richarlison (35’) Muani (50’, 73’)

Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd: Breathtaking Finale as United Steal a Point from Spurs

Two goals in stoppage time meant that it was a point each for Tottenham and Manchester United in a dramatic game in the early kickoff in North London. Spurs made three changes from their 4-0 win against Copenhagen in the Champions League as Udogie, Bentancur and Odobert made way for Spence, Paulinha and Richarlison As for United, they also made three changes from their last game, a 2-2 draw away at Nottingham Forest, Yoro, Dalot and Sesko dropped out for Dorgu, Mazraoui and de Ligt. After the Remembrance weekend minute silence that all Premier League clubs will observe, it was a disastrous start for United as goalkeeper Senne Lammens let the ball roll under his foot. His heart must have been in his mouth as the ball ran away from him, but thankfully for him, it rolled for a corner, which Tottenham couldn’t take advantage of. United got a better foothold of the game early on and their best chance came from Bruno Fernandes driving forward as he usually does, a poor pass is picked back up by the United captain who plays the ball to Bryan Mbeumo who plays a great ball that was begging to be tapped in but there was no takers. Spurs did create one good chance midway through the first half as Brennan Johnson skipped past Patrick Dorgu and crossed to Richarlison who has a free header but the Brazilian inexplicitly completely misses the ball. It was United who took the lead after 32 minutes as Tottenham fail to clear their lines twice, as Matheus Cunha picked it up on the edge of the Spurs area plays it wide to Amad Diallo whose pin point cross is expertly headed in by Mbeumo who scored his fourth goal in five League games. As the first half came to a close United were doing well and as the whistle was blown for half time there were boos ringing round the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. As the players emerged for the second half Tottenham changed shape and it seemed to work as they looked much more aggressive. Their first chance came from the left as Djed Spence crossed for Cristian Romero as the centre-half was still up from a corner and his flicked shot was saved by the leg of Lammens Spurs again had another shot just a couple of minutes later as Xavi Simons free kick was cleared but recycled by Pedro Porro whose cross fell to Paulinha on the half volley and his powerful strike was saved by the difficult to beat Lammens. Spurs then get the ball in the net again down the right hand side with Porro who finds Richarlison and he slips in Johnson but his exquisite finish across goal is ruled out as the Englishman was a yard or so offside. United finally managed to get a little bit of a break from defending as Casemiro’s long pass was chested down brilliantly by Fernandes again but he sliced his shot over the bar. Spurs get their equaliser on 84 minutes as Wilson Odobert pushes them forward gets a good ball wide for Destiny Udogie and his crossed pass to Mathys Tel is controlled outstandingly by the Dutchman to get himself a yard of space away from countryman Matthijs de Ligt and Tel’s shot on the half spin deflects off de Ligt to finally get Spurs level. United try to get their lead back almost straight from kick off as Benjamin Sesko and Mason Mount connect well and Sesko looks to be through on goal if it wasn’t for Micky van de Ven making a goal-saving challenge. That challenge would be the end of Sesko’s game as he went off injured, and United would finish with 10 men as they had no more available subs. Spurs then managed to turn the game around in the 91st minute as a half-cleared corner was picked up by Odobert in space and his curling shot was deftly flicked on by Richarlison who’s got 4 goals in 11 games this season. Ridiculously, we didn’t get a Spurs win as United would end up getting a 96th minute equaliser a Fernandes corner is floated to the far post and de Ligt, whose marker was very well blocked off by Luke Shaw, found the net despite the best efforts of Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario. A score draw was a fair result in a game that started slow but then exploded with action come the end of the game. Final score Tottenham 2-2 Manchester United. Tottenham Hotspur Vicario, Porro (Udogie), Romero (Danso), van de Ven, Spence, Paulinha (Bentancur), Sarr, Johnson, Simons (Tel), Richarlison, Muani (Odobert) Tel 84’ Richarlison 90+1 Manchester United Lammens, de Ligt, Maguire (Yoro), Shaw, Mazraoui (Sesko), Dorgu (Dalot), Fernandes, Casemiro (Ugarte), Cunha (Mount), Diallo, Mbeumo Mbeumo 32 de Ligt 90+6
