Imrie family donate £18,000 in memory of Baby Remi

Morton boss Dougie Imrie and his partner Lauren McCreaddie have donated a staggering £18,000 to the neonatal unit at Wishaw hospital in memory of their child Remi who sadly passed away earlier this year. Earlier this year, the couple welcomed Remi into the world as she was born 14 weeks early weighing 1lb 4oz. Tragically after spending 20 days in the Neonatal Unit at the University Hospital in Wishaw, baby Remi passed away. On Baby Loss Awareness week the couple returned to the hospital to deliver a £18,000 donation to the staff who supported them throughout the most difficult period. Imrie said: “We’ll never be able to thank the staff enough for everything they did for Remi and for us. “Those 20 days we had with her were the most special days of our lives, and the care and compassion and support we received gave us memories we’ll hold forever.” The couple held a fundraiser at the funeral to raise funds for the unit as they want to continue fundraising for as long as they can. McCreaddie said: “At Remi’s funeral, we had a collection for the unit, but we want to continue fundraising for as long as we can. “It’s the very least we can do to give back to those who gave us so much- so that they can keep on helping families like ours through the most difficult journeys.” The funds raised will be used to support the neonatal unit as well as providing help to families whose babies need to spend time in the intensive care unit. Baby Loss Awareness week which is held annually from the 9th to the 15th October is used to support and bring together families who have suffered similar loss as well as raising awareness of the issue of Baby Loss and how you are not alone in your journey. “We Never Got Any Energy Back From The Fans” – Tuchel Demands More From Three Lions Following

England manager Thomas Tuchel felt that the stands of Wembley Stadium were too quiet, despite his side romping to a 3-0 friendly victory over Wales last night. Aston Villa duo Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins had England ahead just 11 minutes in, before Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka made it three on the 20 minute mark. This made it 6 wins from 7 under the German’s stewardship for England, but Tuchel believed that the early domination from the Three Lions warranted a better reception from those in attendance at the national stadium. “The stadium was silent, we never got any energy back from the fans and I think the players delivered a lot to get more back from the fans”, Tuchel said in his post-match interview with ITV. “We had top support in Latvia, we had excellent support in Serbia, but today we were 3-0 up after 20 minutes, we had ball win after ball win and I felt “why is the roof still on the stadium?” There was an estimated 7,000 away fans supporting Craig Bellamy’s Welsh side last night, and the number of empty seats around Wembley has triggered discourse suggesting that the stadium is perhaps too sizeable to be hosting friendlies. “If you then hear for half an hour just Wales fans, it’s a bit sad because I think the team deserved a big support today.” England return to competitive action on Tuesday, as they travel to Latvia with hopes of maintaining their 100% win and clean sheet record in World Cup Qualifying. A win for England and favourable results elsewhere will book their ticket to North America next summer already.

Rangers close to an agreement with Steven Gerrard to make iconic Ibrox return

Rangers are close to an agreement with Steven Gerrard to make a sensational return to Ibrox. Gerrard touched down in London this week and had positive talks with chairman Andrew Cavenagh and vice chairman Paraag Marathe as they hunt for a replacement for Russell Martin. The former England international has been the hot favourite to get the managerial gig, four years after departing the Ibrox club for Aston Villa. Gerrard held talks with the Gers board in the summer about replacing Philippe Clement as boss but couldn’t come to an agreement as it wasn’t the ‘right time’ for the Liverpool legend. However, things have changed now as the 45-year-old has made a new-turn and looks set to become the Light Blues’ 21st permanent manager in the club’s prestigious 153-year history. Gerrard is adored by the Rangers faithful as he delivered the Govan club’s 55th league title in 2021.
