Dundee discover their post-split fixtures

The final Dundee Derby, potential relegation six-pointers – Dundee’s post-split fixtures have been announced. Dundee kick-off their post-split fixtures against their city rivals Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday 26th April, with kick-off at 14:00. The game will also be available on Premier Sports. In the previous meeting between these sides, the game somehow finished in a draw. Jim Goodwin’s men found themselves 2-0 up going into the last few minutes of injury time, but a goal from Hay and an own goal from Graham gave Dundee a point. The away side won the other two derbies this season. United won the opening derby of the season 2-0 at Dens Park and Dundee beat United 1-0 at Tannadice. Dundee then face St Mirren at Dens Park, which could prove to be a massive clash in the survival race. Dundee currently sit two points above St Mirren, who sit in 10th place. The first meeting between these sides, which took place in Paisley, ended 1-0 to St Mirren. In the second meeting, Dundee won 3-1 at Dens Park, and in the third meeting, which took place in Paisly, the game finished goalless. Dundee then face Livingston at Dens Park, who sit bottom of the league, but have improved since Bartley took charge. There has been very little to separate these sides in their three meetings this season. Dundee won the first meeting 3-2 at Dens Park, courtesy of a 97th minute penalty. The other two meetings finished 2-2, with Dundee going 2-0 up in both matches. Dundee then face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park under the lights. These sides, who will face each other this weekend in the final game week before the split, have met three times this campaign. The first meeting, at Rugby Park, finished goalless. In the second meeting, Steven Pressley’s men came from behind to win 2-1 at Dens Park. These sides also met in the Scottish Cup 4th Round at Rugby Park, where Dundee came from behind once again to win 2-1, against nine-man Kilmarnock. Dundee round off the season with what could prove to be a massive game against Aberdeen at Dens Park. Aberdeen currently sit three points above Kilmarnock. The first meeting between these sides ended 4-0 to Aberdeen. In the first meeting between these sides at Dens Park, Aberdeen won 3-1. Aouchiche, who scored in the 4-0 win and bagged a brace in the 3-1 win at Dens Park, departed Aberdeen in February. And in the most recent meeting, at Pittodrie, Dundee recorded their first win at Pittodrie since 2004, winning 3-2.
Celtic Lift Ban on Green Brigade

Celtic’s internal ban on the ultras group ‘Green Brigade’ has been lifted and will see them back at Celtic Park on Saturday, a club statement confirms. The group were banned initially for six matches in November following an alleged incident inside Celtic Park at home to Falkirk. However, this was extended in December due to further ‘safety incidents’. With Celtic’s post-split dates confirmed, they go into the final pre-split fixture at home to St. Mirren with a full house to ramp up their bid of retaining the title. The statement reads: “The Club is pleased to confirm that a route has been found to lift the suspension of the Green Brigade with effect from Saturday’s game against St Mirren. On March 27th, at a meeting of Glasgow City Council Safety Advisory Group, the Club again addressed the suspension on the Green Brigade. The SAG confirmed that it did not object to the suspension being lifted, subject to three conditions being satisfied. These were that all applicable policies will be adhered to, including season ticket terms and conditions; agreement that members will comply with the safety and security operations; recognition that a match-by-match report will be submitted to the Safety Advisory Group, for as long as they deem it necessary. We communicated this to the Green Brigade and asked for their unconditional acceptance. They have today responded positively by accepting these conditions, as outlined.” Celtic interim chairman, Brian Wilson, said: “I am pleased we have reached this point where suspensions can be lifted with the agreement of Glasgow City Council Safety Advisory Group on terms which apply to supporters throughout the stadium. “On that basis, a full and united Celtic Park can get behind the team at this crucial point in the season.” It is doubtful that this patches up the disconnect between the ultras group and the club’s hierarchy, in a season which many fans even outside of the Green Brigade have demonstrated against the Celtic board members, notably seen in the 4-1 Europa League home defeat to Vfb Stuttgart with a tennis ball protest. After St. Mirren, Celtic have Falkirk, Rangers and a final day clash with Hearts all at Parkhead.
Five Games. One Winner: Post-Split fixtures announced

Heart of Midlothian and Celtic may find themselves battling for the Premiership trophy on the final weekend of the season in Glasgow on Saturday, 16 May, following the release of the post-split fixture list by the SPFL. Once this weekend’s 33rd matches are completed, the Premiership will separate into two groups of six. Rangers remain firmly involved, making it a three-way contest for the title. The final Celtic–Rangers meeting, with the champions hosting, has been scheduled for Sunday, 10 May, three rounds before the end of the campaign. Hearts kick off their post-split run with an away Edinburgh derby against Hibernian on Sunday, 26 April. Derek McInnes’ squad, whose lead over Rangers shrank to a single point last weekend, are set to welcome the Ibrox side on Monday, 4 May. Rangers will conclude their league season with a third trip to Falkirk. Due to a fixture imbalance, stemming from expectations that Falkirk would finish in the bottom six, the club has ended up with one additional home match compared to the rest. In the bottom half of the table, five sides remain in danger of relegation. The last round of bottom-six matches is set for Sunday, 17 May, when Dundee host Aberdeen, Kilmarnock travel to Livingston, and St Mirren face Dundee United at home. After this weekend, the Premiership will pause for a two-week international break before returning on 25 April. On that date, Celtic play Falkirk in the top half, while Aberdeen host Kilmarnock and Livingston head to St Mirren. The following day, Rangers take on Motherwell, and Dundee United meet Dundee in the final city derby of the season. The remaining post-split fixtures will take place over the weekends of 2-3 May and 9-10 May, along with midweek matches on 12-13 May. The top-six schedule wraps up on 16 May, followed by the bottom-six finale on 17 May.
Steven Gerrard gives his verdict on Danny Rohl’s performance as Rangers boss

Former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has said that Danny Rohl is doing a ‘phenomenal’ and ‘immaculate’ job so far. Back in October, the Ibrox club were eighth in the league table and trailed league leaders Hearts by 11 points, which led to the sacking of failed former boss Russell Martin after only 17 games in charge. Rohl replaced Martin and has got the Light Blues back in the title race and are one point behind Derek McInnes’ men. Gerrard looked set to return to the Gers after Martin’s sacking but said the timing wasn’t right for him. The Liverpool legend is adored by the Ibrox faithful as he delivered the club’s 55th league title and stopped bitter rivals Celtic winning ten Premiership’s in a row. Speaking on talkSPORT, Gerrard was full of praise for the job the German head coach is doing at his former club. “I dare say he’s been phenomenal, what was it, 13 points off the top? “What a job. He’s come in, he’s said all the right things, he’s tweaked things on the pitch, he’s signed good players in January. I think he’s been immaculate. “But how good is it Ally, when you win on a Saturday, you’re ready and all that on a Sunday and you watch the others play and the pressure is on the others. It’s brilliant isn’t it?” Gerrard’s last managerial role in the game was with Al-Ettifaq in 2025 and is ready to return to the dugout if the right opportunity was to present itself in the future. “My family are back home in Liverpool, the kids are all settled at school. I’m more ready than I have been. I’m all ears. “But at the same time, I’m not chasing. I’m not searching, I’m not desperate. I’m in a good place. “Work-life balance is fantastic at the moemnt but if the right opportunity comes, I’m all ears to listen to that. “But I’m having a fantastic time at TNT with Ally and the boys and the girls, covering some big games.”
Relegation Battle: Could Aberdeen be in the chance of relegation?

It’s been a poor season for the Dons as relegation is becoming a high chance as the Dons begin to really struggle. Aberdeen who sit 9th, joint 10th with St Mirren and just three points ahead of Kilmarnock seem to be in real danger with near enough no confidence in the Aberdeen squad and St Mirren starting to pick up form with Kilmarnock looking slightly better, this may be Aberdeen’s time over. Most the chats been about the entertaining title race going on at the top, but one of Scotland’s biggest teams may be set to be within the chance of Championship football next season. As of late, it’s been nothing but a disappointment in the Granite City with just one league win in 2026 which came against bottom of the league, Livingston after a 6-2 victory. The Dons have only won once in their last 10 – a 2-0 win in the Scottish Cup over Motherwell but were later denied a spot at Hampden against Dunfermline. To dive deeper into some stats, in the last 48 points which were available to Aberdeen, the Dons only picked up six. As well as that, Aberdeen have only scored once on the road this year with their last away win being at the start of December. Livingston who have only won once all season, have picked up more points (7) than Aberdeen (5) in their last 15 matches. Aberdeen’s last win against one of the top-six sides was all the way back in November – a 1-0 win over league leaders Hearts. The Pittodrie side also haven’t won a game in the last eight attempts and have conceded in all of their last six as Aberdeen enter the final hurdle this season. So Aberdeen haven’t had the manager bounce they had hoped for under Stephen Robinson in which Robinson has only picked up one point so far in charge which came against Falkirk. Next up for the Dons is a home match against Hibernian which will be nothing but a tough test to come. For other sides within the relegation spots, St Mirren travel to Celtic and Kilmarnock host Dundee at Rugby Park. Can Aberdeen avoid any relegation fears or will they grab that 11th spot with Livingston looking likely to grab that bottom spot?
PSG vs Liverpool – Match Preview

PSG host an out of form Liverpool in the first leg of this Champions League Last 8 tie. These sides were drawn in the same group in the 2018/19 Champions League. In the first meeting, which took place at Anfield, Liverpool won 3-2, courtesy of a stoppage time strike from Brazilian forward Firmino. In the return fixture, PSG ran out 2-1 winners, with the goals coming from Bernat and Neymar. These sides also met in the Last 16 of the Champions League last season. Despite getting outplayed throughout, Liverpool won the first leg 1-0 in Paris, courtesy of a late strike from Elliot, and a stellar display from Alisson. In the second leg, PSG won 1-0 after 120 minutes, courtesy of an early strike from Ballon d’Or winner Dembele, which sent the tie to penalties, where the French outfit ran out 4-1 winners, courtesy of heroics from current Manchester City goalkeeper Donnarumma. The reigning Champions of Europe did not have a successful group phase, finishing outside of the automatic knockout places. As a result, PSG had to face fellow French side AS Monaco over two legs for a spot in the Last 16. The French champions overturned a two-goal deficit to win the first leg 3-2 away from home against 10 men. In the second leg, Monaco hit the front just before half time to level the tie, but once again, Monaco got a man sent off, and PSG capitalised, scoring two quickfire goals. Teze levelled the tie on the night in injury time, but it proved to be just a consolation. Luis Enrique’s men were drawn Chelsea in the Last 16, where they comfortably progressed, winning 8-2 across the two legs. Liverpool had a solid Champions League, league phase, finishing third, only behind Bayern Munchen and Arsenal. Arne Slot’s men faced Turkish outfit Galatasaray in the Last 16. In Turkey, Liverpool lost 1-0, courtesy of an early strike from Lemina. However, in the second leg, Liverpool turned the deficit around, winning 4-0 in Merseyside, courtesy of goals from Szoboszlai, Ekitike, Gravenberch and Salah, to set up a meeting with PSG in the Last 8. PSG come into this fixture off the back of back-to-back league wins, against Nice and Toulouse, and in their last four matches in all competitions, the French outfit have found the net fifteen times. On the other hand, Liverpool come into this fixture off the back of back-to-back defeats against Brighton in the Premier League and a 4-0 defeat against Manchester City in the FA Cup in their last outing. France World Cup winner Christophe Dugarry believes that PSG will “wrap up” the quarter-final in the first leg in Paris: “It’s going to be a walk in the park, honestly. Liverpool are disastrous. Fourteen wins, ten losses, and seven draws since the start of the season in the league. They’re catastrophic. “I’m not going to say they have bad players, but they don’t play together. “In my opinion, the difference in level is colossal. I think PSG will wrap up the quarter-final in the first leg.” “They have no legs, they have nothing. Technically they have good players, they’re not clumsy, but they play at a snail’s pace. “When you see the intensity Paris Saint-Germain manages to bring today, with their legs back, with their mental strength and everything else they’ve regained…there’s no comparison between the two teams. “It’s going to be a massacre! It’s going to be a massacre.”
“I thought he was terrific” – Derek McInnes on Lawrence Shankland’s return

Lawrence Shankland returned with 90 minutes in Hearts’ 2-2 draw with Livingston and had a major part to play in both goals. Shankland equalised for Hearts midway through the first half, as well as assisting striker partner Claudio Braga to give Hearts their second goal in West Lothian. The striker was missing for eight matches with a hamstring injury and was given a cameo introduction during Hearts’ victory over Dundee before the international break. And the Hearts talisman delivered on his first full 90 minutes back from injury, showing his quality to keep Hearts at the top of the table. After the match, McInnes said: “I thought he [Shankland] was terrific throughout, I thought he linked the play brilliantly, but he looked a threat, his headers top class, and he was in the middle of the goal so often. I think you see exactly what he is today.” McInnes also talked about how big a miss Shankland and others have been in recent fixtures, especially away from home. He said: “I think we’ve missed certain players within it, to be honest. I don’t think we’ve had the same attacking threat of late without Shankland and others.” With six matches remaining, the Hearts support will be looking for their captain and other key players to show their fine form that has been produced throughout the season. In hope to take the Scottish Premiership title away from Glasgow for the first time since 1985.
