Steven Pressley Signs New Dundee Contract

Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce that Manager Steven Pressley has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract. Pressley’s first season at the club ended in an 8th-place finish in the William Hill Premiership. Already this season, qualification through the group stages into the Premier Sports Cup Round of 16 has been achieved, with the Premiership season set to start on Monday with a trip to Celtic Park. Steven Pressley said, “I’m really pleased, for a number of reasons. Firstly, from a football perspective, it brings some stability to the situation within the club, but also from a personal perspective. “There have been a lot of challenges along the way, but I’ve enjoyed building relationships within the club, building those relationships with the players, with the staff, and trying to grow a culture that I hope can serve the club for many years.” Managing Director John Nelms said, “We are delighted that Steven will be staying at the club, and I’m sure our supporters will be as well. “There has been so much progress made in his first year at the club. His ability to develop players, and the group as a collective, is a perfect fit for our vision of the club going forward. Our squad has taken big strides forward under Steven, and we have seen young players come into the first team, develop and excel under his leadership. “You can see from the improvements we made last season that Steven has had a hugely positive impact on the club, and as he has said, there is still a long way to go”

Aaron Donnelly completes loan switch from Dundee to Dunfermline

Dundee have this afternoon confirmed Aaron Donnelly has joined Neil Lennon’s Dunfermline on a season-long loan. The Northern Ireland international has done exactly what the Pars are hoping to achieve this season, which is to gain promotion to the Scottish Premiership, after helping Dundee reach the top flight back in 2024. The defender joined the Dens Park outfit back in January 2025 making 42 appearances for the Dark Blues, having previously had a loan stint at Dundee during the 2023/24 Championship season. Donnelly began his career at Northern Irish side, Dungannon Swifts before a big move to Nottingham Forest in 2019, making just one appearance at senior level for the English side, as well as having spells at EFL sides Port Vale and Colchester. The on-loan defender mainly plays as a left sides centre-back but can also play at left-back as well as right-back and is known to be very solid and can help his team work play up the pitch, helping out in driving forward. The 23-year-old has started twice this season in the Premier Sports Cup group stages against both Annan and Clyde, as well as making one appearance off the bench against Airdrieonians, as he aims for regular first-team action at East End Park and hopes to help Dunfermline gain a return to the Premiership.

Bennie Ready for Premiership Challenge After Dundee United Switch

Dundee United have strengthened their attacking options after announcing the loan signing of Daniel Bennie from Queens Park Rangers for the 2026/27 season. The 20-year-old Australian youth international began his career with Perth Glory before moving to English Championship side QPR. Bennie has made more than 30 appearances for the London club over the past two seasons and can play anywhere across the frontline. United manager Jim Goodwin was delighted to add another attacking option to his squad ahead of the new campaign. “Daniel will provide another option for us going forward and add real strength and depth as we head into the season,” said Goodwin. “Daniel is direct and pacy and adds real versatility across our front line. I can’t wait to get to work with him.” Speaking to the Dundee United website, Bennie said: “This is such a huge club and it felt like, at this stage of my career, it is the best move to keep developing my game on loan. “I know a few of the lads from the A-League and played with Josh [Rawlins] for a bit at Perth, so I’m excited to see some familiar faces and meet all the other lads.” Bennie has also represented Australia at under-20 level, making 14 appearances and scoring five goals. Dundee United begin their Premiership campaign against Rangers on Friday night.
