Manchester City have been found guilty of breaking 114 of the 115 financial charges they were accused of.
An independent panel reached the decision, but sanctions have not yet been decided, however the ten-time Premier League champions are expected the appeal the decision, which spans from the period of 2009-2018.
The club said, “The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence.”
Charges include failure to comply with FFP regulations and providing inaccurate financial information over sponsorship revenue. Punishments such as points deductions, fines, demotion from England’s top flight or even stripping of trophies have all been rumoured.
During the period of charges, the Manchester club won three Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and the Community Shield.
