Ethan Erhahon is reportedly considering a switch of international allegiance to Nigeria, potentially making himself available to represent the Super Eagles at senior level. The Glasgow-born midfielder, who has represented Scotland at youth level, is eligible to play for Nigeria through his family heritage.
Erhahon has built his career as a central or defensive midfielder. He began his football journey at St Mirren, progressing through the academy before breaking into the first team and becoming a valuable asset to Jim Goodwin’s side, as well as Stephen Robinson’s Saints team.
His performances in Scotland eventually earned him a move to English football with Lincoln City. Following two successful years at Lincoln, Erhahon earned a move to Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee last summer. The 25-year-old helped the side secure promotion through the playoffs and is now impressing in the Championship.
At international level, Erhahon has represented Scotland at various youth levels, including the under-21 team. However, a call-up to the senior squad looks increasingly unlikely, with Scotland having an extensive array of options in midfield.
