Rangers Goalkeeper Ivor Pandur spoke about the frustration he felt as his side dropped points away against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday Night.
The Croatian International sat down to speak to the media immediately after the game and he said he wasn’t happy to lose the game after winning the last seven in a row.
Pandur said: “It was really frustrating. I think it’s not a nice feeling after coming from so much winning and we know it’s two points dropped and we are not happy about it but we are in it together in this moment and it’s a moment where we have to show what we want to achieve.”
Pandur was asked about how frustrated he was that both Dundee goals came directly from mistakes from Rangers players.
He responded: “Yes but this will happen, in football it’s a game of moments and it’s a game of mistakes and one day it’s one player and on another it’s another but we are not a team that is pointing fingers because as a whole I know we created a lot and we should have scored more. It’s not about individuals here.”
Next Pandur was asked to address Dan Neil going from hero against Celtic to his critical mistake that allowed Dundee to get their equaliser just over 20 minutes from time.
He said: “You cannot take anything for granted in football, the reality is Dan Neil is an unbelievable player and a great guy and really important for our team and that’s the reality if he makes mistakes or scored goals it doesn’t change, he’s just really important for us and he will continue to be.”
Following that Pandur was asked about the previous result in the city of Dundee a 1-1 draw at Tannadice back on the 31st July and if the team is better placed so as to not go on a run of poor results like the results that followed that game.
He replied: “Yes, we have togetherness we have a good feeling between each other, and everyone supports each other and I think we can get through these moments of course easily like I said we need to look and see what is wrong, what could be done better to control the game a little bit better and that’s why we have a week to train and to see it improve.”
Pandur was then asked what the biggest thing was the team could learn from the game and take into future matches.
He responded: “I really don’t know, it’s just frustrating and in this moment after the game finishes I just think the moment is we won a lot of games in a row and when we were not the better side we had a win and we hoped that tonight would be the same but to point the finger on what is wrong I think is hard to see.”
Rangers go again next Saturday against St Johnstone at Ibrox, who like Dundee have had a decent start to the season and will likely be another tough match for Pandur and his teammates to overcome to try and put pressure back on Celtic who after their 7-1 thrashing of Hearts now have a four point lead over their rivals.
