The international break is well under way and for Hearts its an impressive 8 players in action for their countries sides.
Sebastian Pocginoli selected both James Wilson and Josh McPake to join his maiden Scotland squad for their games against Slovenia, Switzerland and North Macedonia.
It is Wilson’s second senior call up for Scotland, the first come in 2025 during the UEFA Nations League play-off against Greece. He made his first appearance in the second leg of the tie, and become the youngest player to ever represent Scotland at just 18 years old.
For Josh McPake, it is a first senior call up in international duty. He has made an impressive start at Hearts this season, scoring two goals and assisting five.
McPake joined Hearts from St Johnstone in the summer after signing a pre-contract deal in January and has become a regular starter in Wouter Vrancken’s squad.
Another player representing Scotland during the break is 22 year old goalkeeper Liam McFarlane, he has been selected to join the Under 21s squad and will face Azerbaijan and Bulgaria in their UEFA Euro Under 21 Qualification games.
Pierre Landry Kabore, Rogers Mato and MJ Kamson-Kamara have been selected to represent their countries in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification stage.
For Kabore, he receives his 12th call up to Burkina Faso, the striker has been at Hearts since 2025, making 28 appearances and scoring five times.
Internationally he has scored 7 goals and is a regular choice during their competitions.
Rogers Mato receives his first call up to the Ugandan International team, he signed for Hearts in January 2026 but struggled to get game time during the 2025/26 season.
He has made 6 appearances so far this season and scored twice during Hearts League Cup fixtures.
Kamson-Kamara is another debutant for his home country and is representing Sierra Leone. The defender is current on loan to Kilmarnock for the 2026/27 season but did make 1 appearance for the Gorgie side during their home game against Benfica
Aron Benjaminsen has been called up for the Faroe Islands, originally at Under 21s level but has been promoted to the senior squad after an impressive opening game against Estonia Under 21s.
The 17 year old scored both goals in their away win against Estonia and will now be involved for the first time with the senior team.
The final call up is Sabah Kerjota for Albania. This is also his first international apperance. The winger has made 32 appearances for Hearts since signing last summer, assisting 4 times including a memorable injury time derby win at home.
He scored his first goal in maroon this season against Dundee, a game that saw two late goals to flip the game.
A very positive look for Hearts as their squad represent their countries across different competitions. Once league matches return, their next game will be against St Mirren at Tynecastle
