Marko Ivezic is yet to make his Hibernian debut after signing from Holstein Kiel, but has insisted he edging closer to his Hibs debut, and is raring to go an Easter Road.
Ivezic was signed by David Gray to replace Warren O’Hora, but will never play for the manager who brought him to the club following the Hibs legend’s dismissal and Marink Reedijk’s appointment.
The Serbian defender’s defender has been delayed after he contracted an illness which kept him sidelined during Gray’s last days, which saw a real lack of squad depth in the backline.
However, Ivezic has stated he’s been part of full training in Hibs’ midseason training camo in La Manga, he said: “I was ill and then I started two weeks to progress and to train harder, so now I’m ready maximum to train and to be an option.
“It was nice, these two days it was harder training and we are preparing well for the next part of the season. It’s nice and I feel very good and happy because I’m training normally with the team and after the last period, so I’m very happy about it.”
“I’m looking really forward to play for this club and especially in our stadium later, so it’s very nice and I can’t wait. I’ve already watched a few games, two in our stadium, so I’m really excited to play and wear this jersey.”
Offering a quick word on new manager Marink Reedijk, Ivezic said: “Yeah, you can see already that his idea of football, that directly of playing, so I think it fits perfectly for us.”
He also offered an insight on Hibs’ training camp, which acts as a mini pre-season, and what he expects from his move to the Premiership. He said: “It’s good because we are all together here and we don’t have a lot of time like normal pre-season, so this is perfect for an idea of a new coach and to be ready for the next week.
“I think this is a perfect step for me.
“I expect, for me, this is the next step and I really look forward and I want to give my maximum here and to bring my experience further ahead and to improve.”
Ivezic will look to make his debut in Hibs’ next match, as they travel to Tannadice to face Dundee United on October 10th following the international break.
