Hearts are facing a growing injury problem with several first team players out at a crucial stage of the season.
Key players are missing across the pitch for the Jambos but the biggest concern is within the midfield. Blair Spittal and Tom Renaud, who made a huge impact at the beginning of the season are predicted to miss out until December.
Edurardo Ageu and Oisin McEntee are both unavailable due to muscle injuries. Ageu signed for the Gorgie side at the beginning of the 2025/26 season but has struggled with multiple injuries during his time at the club, limiting his presence on the pitch.
McEntee picked up his injury just before half-time at Celtic Park, he has played a vital role for Hearts since joining last seasons. He has been a versatile player taking positions in both the midfield and defence.
In the middle of the pitch the newest injury is Yan Dhanda, he looks to have picked up an injury at Fir Park on Sunday. He came on as a substitute but was spotted limping off the pitch and requiring treatment at full time. The extent of this injury is unknown.
Defensively, Harry Milne, Stuart Findlay, Christian Borchgrevink and Craig Halkett are all ruled out of action.
Halkett picked up an achilles tendon injury at Fir Park in May, he has been undergoing treatment since then and is set to return to the team in December.
Stuart Findlay has picked up a groin injury which will see him miss the next few games for Hearts
Christian Borchgrevink and Harry Milne both sustained their injuries during the Jambos game against Trabzonspor in Turkey. Borchgrevink is sidelined with a hamstring injury. While Harry Milne appears to be the most serious injury Wouter Vrancken will have this year.
The left back has reportedly suffered an anterior crucial ligament injury (ACL) which could see him miss the remainder of the season.
This injury list will be a huge concern at Tynecastle at the moment, but the players are adapting to new temporary positions.
Calvin Miller and Rogers Mato have both been called into defensive action so far, while this is not either of their natural positions, they have confirmed they will do what it takes to ensure this team can still keep their fighting spirits alive.
Hearts have a busy week ahead starting on Wednesday night with a home tie against former manager Derek McInnes’ Rangers side, before travelling to Hampden on Sunday afternoon for the Premier Sports Cup semi-final against rivals Hibernian.
