Kevin Nisbet could be set to be sidelined ahead of Aberdeen’s clash with St Mirren due to a hamstring injury, with several other players also unavailable.
Aberdeen haven’t looked great so far this campaign at times, with Kevin Nisbet emerging as their main man. However, the Dons’ top goalscorer has an issue of his own, having seemingly suffered a potential hamstring injury.
The star man has netted 12 goals so far this season, with his last coming before the international break at Easter Road in Aberdeen’s 1-1 draw.
In a recent press conference, the Aberdeen boss confirmed that the Dons striker is a doubt ahead of their match against St Mirren. Alongside Nisbet, Mouloua has only just returned to training today following a head knock sustained against St Johnstone, while Mahou is also unavailable through illness.
Aberdeen will be hoping that Nisbet’s injury won’t be a long-term issue, with some very important fixtures coming up, including their Premier Sports Cup semi-final clash with Rangers on Halloween.
Robinson said: “Hicham, unfortunately, he was involved in a lot of the set-up and he’s come down with an illness, so he’ll struggle to be involved tomorrow.”
He later added: “Ayoub hasn’t trained all week – obviously, we had to do the concussion protocols with him – so we’re just looking at him this morning.
“It’ll be his first training session, so it’s a bit of a hard ask to go straight into the starting line-up.
“Kevin hasn’t trained all week either with a hamstring injury. So again, he’ll be a late test on Saturday.”
As it stands, Nisbet is likely to be sidelined despite undergoing a late fitness test tomorrow morning. Mouloua is also unlikely to start, meaning Aberdeen’s options will be limited to just Ntelo and Olusanya as they face an out-of-form St Mirren side at Pittodrie tomorrow afternoon.
Between the two strikers, they have scored just two goals combined so far this season. However, they’ll be hoping to add to that tally tomorrow afternoon in what is a crucial fixture for Stephen Robinson against his former side.
