Findlay Marshall agrees “it’s been a really good week” as Aberdeen are now just within touching distance of fourth and at Hampden in October.

Marshall has featured in the last three games throughout the week, getting 30 minutes in Ayrshire as well as two back-to-back starts against both Motherwell and Hibernian after some impressive displays.

Marshall who had an impressive loan spell at Arbroath last season has been given a huge chance to play for his boyhood side, which he has taken very well and has been a key player in the side.

After a busy week, Aberdeen confirmed a place at Hampden against Rangers, a massive win over Motherwell and a point at Easter Road.

Marshall said: “Yeah, I think it’s been a really good week, obviously making it to the semi-final and then went on Tuesday and today I feel obviously we want to come and win but I think it’s a good point in the end.”

The Aberdeen midfielder was full of praise for Kevin Nisbet who netted his twelfth goal for his side and how beneficial having someone like Nisbet is in the squad.

The 20-year-old said: “Yeah I think, I’ve not played with a striker as clinical as him, even today his goal, I wanted him to set me but he goes and scores, it’s so good to have that and then, Olusanya as well obviously he just works so hard and I think both of them together are a really good pair.”

Robinson who has been under a lot of stick has the full backing of Marshall and the team.

He added: “I think he’s bringing a togetherness, I feel like we’re a really good team, you could probably see that see that in the past few games, playing forward quick, I think our defence has shaped very good and I feel like, he’s just all round really good with everyone.”

Robinson earlier in the week stated he had no plans to put Marshall out on loan as the pair had discussions about the matter.

Marshall said: “We had it actually (the conversation) still before the window had shut, a few good weeks of the window, there was no chance of you going out on loan, he (Stephen Robinson) said, keep working hard and you’ll get your chance.”

He added: “After that conversation, it had actually helped because I feel like you always, you are obviously in the back of your mind maybe thinking you’re not 100% sure if you’re going to be here or out on loan, but I got that clarity which has helped me even more.”
