Jags Make Firhill a Fortress After Breaking Records

Partick Thistle have went 24 home games undefeated now as Mark Wilson continues to break records at Firhill.

Partick Thistle last home defeat came all the way back in September, 2025 in a 4-0 cup defeat at the hands of Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup which is now over a year since defeat at Firhill.

The Jags’ have broke a major record, going 24 games undefeated for the first time since 1911 but with their win over Arbroath at the weekend meant the Maryhill outfit broke a brand new record.

Ben Stanway netted a brace with Tony Watt getting the third secured the three points on Saturday as well as ultimately breaking records.

Mark Wilson was delighted with breaking the record as he said: “I wasn’t even really aware, but I could obviously it’s great when you break records. I think joined up as a full club, I think we should take great pride in that, because this isn’t an easy division to play in. Some of the results showed that the day and especially at home, you’re always going to come up against that at home.

He added: “There’s always going to be spells, there’s always going to be bad luck that maybe I’m doing it at some stages, but we showed an incredible consistency here as a group of players and really does mean the world to them. You know, you can see the people there, they’re putting themselves on the line that real desire and fight, so really chuffed for the guys.

Ben Stanway has had an incredible time at Firhill after signing a new deal to remain at the Jags in the summer, netting two goals to help his side onto victory on Saturday.

The midfielder spoke on the record which has been broken, saying: “I’ve just been told about that record there. It’s probably all credit to the defence because you can’t if you lose games by shipping goals and they’ve been excellent for so many games and consistently. So I’m pretty sure Lee Ashcroft, Dan (Daniel O’Reilly) and Ben (McPherson) the full-backs are all delighted with that.”

After being asked on the historic moment, Stanway added: “I feel like I’m so focused on like just getting back up the table and stuff like that and it’s obviously brilliant, but you’re just in such a tunnel vision like now and we all know we want we’re hunting down that top space in the league. So, I think when the season’s done, we’ll probably think that was great, but we’ve got a lot more focus on just now”

Next up for Thistle is a very tough trip to Livingston in-store as Mark Wilson’s men look to continue their incredible run. Their next home tie as they look to break more records comes on the 24th October in a mouth watering home tie with high flying Stenhousemuir which will certainly, really test the character for the Firhill side.
