Ayr did make it out their League Cup group but a defeat to Partick Thistle dumped them out. Ayr have racked up some big victories with a big away win at Raith Rovers not long ago and a 1-0 win away to Dunfermline with Scott Brown defeating his former gaffer, Neil Lennon.
