Derek McInnes admires his side for continuing to “chalk up wins” after delivering an emphatic win over St Johnstone at Ibrox.
Amid torrid conditions, the manager was pleased to see his squad finish off the game in the second half after a frustrating first 45.
“The conditions were tough. The pitch held up brilliantly.
“First half we were very good. The only frustration was we took too long to get the first goal and we should be more than a goal to the good at half-time.
“We didn’t want to let that frustration get the better of us. St Johnstone changed their approach, played forward quicker and we looked a bit slow to get going.”
Rangers are now unbeaten in eight, with seven of those coming by victory. The 4-0 win is their most emphatic league result this season.
“The scoreline was just about right because of chances created. It’s a learning curve for us. It’s hard to maintain this level, but the first half was as good as we’ve been in a while.
A huge week awaits the manager as he leads his side for the first time since leaving for Tynecastle in June. Hearts are unbeaten at home since April 2025, and McInnes expects the toughest version of his old side.
“We’re in good form, we’re slowly but surely chalking up wins. You go to any game expecting to get a result. We know it will be tough [at Tynecastle] but we want to make it tough for them as well.”
