Sebastien Pocognoli named his second Scotland squad earlier today ahead of the November internationals. Scott McTominay has returned to the squad after missing the September international break as he recovered from heart surgery. Here’s how all nine of the international players faired this past week.
Luis Binks: The Brondby defender captained his side and played a full 90 minutes as the Copenhagen side defeated Aarhus 2-0. Brondby currently sit 4th in the Danish Superliga.
Jack Hendry: Al-Ettifaq and Hendry drew 1-1 with Al-Taawon on Saturday. Hendry started the match and picked up a yellow card. The draw means his side still sit 7th in the Saudi table.
Nathan Patterson & Ché Adams: Still settling into life in Turin, Nathan Patterson was a second-half substitute as Torino were defeated 2-0 away to Frosinone. The right-back also came off the bench during his side’s 3-1 loss at home to Como on Tuesday.
Ché Adams missed Pocognoli’s first international camp through injury but returns to the camp after a fairly positive start to the Serie A this season. He was on the score sheet for Torino’s Tuesday night loss and despite blanking at the weekend, Adams has scored four goals in nine games so far this campaign.
Lewis Ferguson: It’s been a difficult start to the season for Bologna, one that involved managerial change, but they enjoyed a great week with a 4-2 win away to AC Milan in the midweek and a 2-1 win at home to Monza on Saturday. Ferguson still captains the side and played the full 90 minutes in both games this week
Billy Gilmour & Scott McTominay: Napoli’s double header week involved a 4-1 win away to Monza and a 2-0 loss to Juventus in Turin. McTominay played the full match in both but suffered from now rare blanks. Gilmour came off the bench in both fixtures, but played over 70 minutes in Monza as he replaces the injured Stanislav Lobotka.
Kieron Bowie: After a brief return to the Sassuolo starting XI last week, Bowie dropped to the bench once more for this week’s 6-2 and 4-2 home defeats to Lazio and Fiorentina respectively, plating roughly half-an-hour in both matches.
Robbie Ure: Scotland’s man in Seville scored his second Sevilla goal on Thursday, netting the opener in Thursday night’s 3-0 win over Hortaleza in the Copa Del Rey. He then dropped to the bench on Sunday, coming on for the final phases as Sevilla fell 3-1 away to Getafe.
Scotland will contest the final fixtures of a so far disappointing Nations League campaign as they host North Macedonia on the 13th November, before travelling to Switzerland three days later for the finale.
